Key West is not like any other part of Florida. Duval Street, the main street that runs through town, goes from coast to coast–from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico. Key West is great for all kinds of water sports and funky shopping for jewelry, fine art and handmade crafts. Yes, the girls and I did a lot of damage shopping! The old town is rich with historic sights and southern architecture, many restaurants, inns, bars, museums and even a lighthouse. We explored the whole island with rented bikes every day when we weren’t walking. When we got to the beach, of course we had to take our picture at the closest point to Cuba. Then there was the nightlife! The old town becomes a big party with the world-famous Sunset Celebrations. There are vendors, artists, musicians and street performers all over Mallory Square. All the bars in the evening have live music, dueling pianos and dancing. I have been here and brought friends and groups at least every two years! I never get tired of Key West!
